About Us

The Community Ophthalmology Service will provide consistent and high quality community-based eye care services to the patients of Salford, treating a range of routine and non-urgent ophthalmic conditions. Our Service will deliver a comprehensive range of benefits to its service users including:

  • A Consultant Led Ophthalmology Service for the community delivered at four convenient locations close in proximity to patients homes;
  • A referral assessment triage process to direct patients to the most appropriate service setting;
  • A service focused on delivering eye care in the community to reduce demand on local Hospital Eye Services;
  • Waiting times for treatment of just 4 weeks.

Operose Health have been at the forefront of Consultant Led Community Ophthalmology Services since 2006. We now provide services to a number of CCG’s across the country. It is our aim to make life as simple as possible for referrers. We offer a well-rounded service, with a team of specialist triagers, a referrer helpline, a Referral Management Centre (RMC) and the facility to receive advice from an ophthalmologist on the same day. We can treat a wide range of conditions and once received, every referral is clinically triaged by an ophthalmologist and signposted to the most appropriate service for the needs of the patient.
